Emotional Traps

Who is our worst enemy?  Answer:  Ourselves.  Clever antagonists know this and use a character's fear against him or her.  These antagonists set up situations and circumstances which use fear to lure, tempt, prod or push the character in acting foolishily.  The character acts out his or her fear and falls into a trap of his or her own making.
